Explore Careers is one of Australia's leading and fastest-growing career platforms, built to inspire and support young Australians as they take their first steps into the world of work.
From career events and student experiences to digital campaigns and authentic career stories, we help young people discover what their future could look like – and connect them directly with the employers shaping it.
We partner with more than 100 of Australia's top employers – including Deloitte, Coles, Amazon, Jetstar, Sportsgirl, CBA, and Bupa – giving them the tools to engage with the next generation and showcase why they're great places to work.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a Marketing & Content Coordinator who's ready to roll up their sleeves and make things happen.
This isn't a role where you'll be lost in a big team or stuck doing the same thing every day. You'll be working side by side with an experienced Marketing Manager, handling newsletters, blogs, website updates, and reporting – making sure campaigns go out on time, look great, and deliver results our clients can see.
You'll also get exposure to our outsourced agencies across social, web, and SEO – helping coordinate their work and making sure it all connects back to our clients and campaigns.
Because we're a start-up environment, you won't just be following instructions. You'll have the chance to throw in ideas, suggest better ways of doing things, and help shape how our marketing evolves. It's the kind of role where your work is visible, your input matters, and no two days look the same.
What you'll be doing
* Own Explore Careers' newsletters – drafting copy, designing layouts, managing lists and workflows, testing, sending, and reporting on open/click rates and engagement (HubSpot).
* Research, write, and optimise blog content – career advice, how-to guides, and industry insights – using on-page SEO best practice (keywords, metadata, alt text, internal linking, formatting)
* Update and manage website content – maintaining employer profiles, campaign pages, and other web content, ensuring accuracy, tone, and SEO best practices.
* Review and refine client-supplied content – editing and proofreading to ensure quality, consistency, and suitability for a student audience.
* Build and deliver client-ready reports – pulling analytics from HubSpot, Google Analytics, and Looker Studio, to give clear performance data.
* Create simple graphics and layouts – create simple graphics and layouts in Canva/Adobe to support newsletters, blogs, and marketing materials when agency input isn't required.
* Maintain the content calendar and asset library – scheduling campaigns, tracking deadlines, and keeping creative materials organised and accessible.
* Develop and manage internal resources – including content specs, style guidelines, and workflow documents that make marketing delivery consistent and efficient.
* Quality assurance – double-checking all outputs before release to ensure accuracy, formatting, SEO hygiene, and brand alignment.
* Collaboration & support – work closely with the Marketing Manager on campaign delivery and support Partnership Managers with client content updates and reporting.
About you
You're the kind of person who loves to make things happen. You're organised, detail-oriented, and take pride in your work.
You enjoy variety – one day writing blogs, the next building campaigns in HubSpot, then pulling reports or creating a quick design in Canva. You like knowing your work has a direct impact, and you get a buzz from seeing the results.
You're collaborative and open to feedback, but you also take ownership and run with your work. And because we're a small, start-up team, you're comfortable working in a lean environment where everyone pitches in, no two days look the same, and your contribution is visible.
You're excited by the chance to learn quickly, try new things, and grow alongside an experienced Marketing Manager who'll support your development.
We think you'll bring
* 1–3 years' experience in marketing, communications, or content.
* Strong writing and editing skills, with sharp attention to detail.
* Familiarity with HubSpot (or a similar CRM/automation platform) – or the ability to pick it up quickly.
* Basic design skills in Canva/Adobe.
* Confidence applying SEO fundamentals (keywords, metadata, formatting).
* An organised, process-driven approach – you like keeping projects on track.
* Flexibility – happy to switch between copywriting, campaign builds, reporting, and admin.
* Comfort working in a small, lean team where everyone pitches in and your contribution is visible.
* A collaborative mindset – you take direction well but take ownership of your work.
What we offer
* The chance to grow your skills across multiple marketing channels – from content and SEO to campaigns and reporting.
* Direct mentoring from an experienced Marketing Manager.
* A close-knit team where your work will be noticed and valued every day.
* The opportunity to be part of a small but ambitious start-up, where your ideas count and your work makes a real difference.
* Hybrid working: a mix of office and WFH, with early Friday finishes.
* A modern South Melbourne office with plenty of extras – from an on-site gym with free boxing and pilates classes, to a golf simulator, basketball court, and even beer on tap.
