Role
RACS psychologists deliver evidenced based treatment to a variety of patients and have key roles working within the multidisciplinary teams across the sub-acute wards using a patient-centred care perspective. The Grade 2 Psychologist will undertake a diverse role in investigating, identifying, and providing psychological assessment and treatment to rehabilitation patients with psychological, behavioural and/or cognitive factors that are impacting on the admission and discharge planning. RACS psychologists work within the multidisciplinary teams and in addition to psychological therapy, provide specialist support around behaviours of concern and education and training to teams as needed on mental health issues.
The role is a permanent psychology position located at Kingston Centre. The position is EFT (or 2 days per week) and flexible, family-friendly hours can be supported.
About You
You enjoy working within a team environment and have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time-management skills and knowledge in working with patients with chronic and/or complex psychological issues. You are passionate about your work and promoting the role of psychology more broadly within the public health framework. You have sound science-practitioner skills and value the importance of evidence based practice and utilising objective data to determine outcomes. You enjoy working in a team environment and work well within the multidisciplinary team. Registrars are keen to expand their skills and actively participate and engage in the group supervision provided by the Psychology Registrar program.
