Permanent, part‐time clinical nurse consultant (32 hours fortnight), located at Royal Hobart Hospital (C Block, Lvl Grd), South Tasmania.
Award / Classification
Registered Nurse Grade 6 under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
Annual Salary: $118,297 to $125,543 pro‐rata (plus 12 % superannuation).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical advice on private health and DVA care options.
* Assess patients for suitability for private pathways and coordinate transfers to private facilities and outpatient appointments.
* Identify and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate appropriate care settings.
* Coordinate safe transitions to private hospitals and specialists.
* Support patient flow and optimise bed availability.
* Collaborate across Emergency, inpatient wards, Mental Health, and Special Care Nursery.
* Provide staff education on private patient processes.
* Liaise with private hospitals, specialists and insurers.
* Maintain accurate documentation and meet Department of Health reporting requirements.
* Contribute to service improvement and contemporary nursing leadership.
You will need
* Well‐developed clinical management and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
* High level interpersonal and communication skills, including mediation and conflict resolution.
* Effective organisational skills with problem‐solving ability and application of clinical risk management, quality improvement and research principles.
Desired qualifications
* Relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification (or currently working towards one).
Salary and Allowances
* Pro‐rata salary $118,297 to $125,543 per annum plus superannuation.
* Post‐graduate allowance up to 10 % based on qualification type.

Essential Criteria
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
