As a key player in the metal recycling industry, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to and manage capital projects across Australia and New Zealand.
This role focuses on implementing detailed electrical work instructions for new installations, covering investigation, budgeting, design, drafting, equipment procurement, installation supervision, and commissioning. You will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and contribute to engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and commissioning of new plant and equipment
* Review plant, equipment, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement
* Produce detailed project schedules, assign tasks to contractors, and oversee installation activities
* Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand electrical standards, safety regulations, and company critical risks
* Collaborate with commissioning teams and operations to ensure smooth handover of assets
* Maintain project documentation, drawings, and manuals within company systems
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and material recovery
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in the field of electrical engineering or holder of an unrestricted electrical licence or equivalent level of experience
* Minimum 3 years industrial site electrical experience with knowledge of SCADA and PLC systems
* Strong understanding of electrical design, installation, and safety in a fixed plant environment
* Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently, manage contractors, and act decisively under minimal supervision
* Willingness to travel across Australia and New Zealand as required
