As a Business Development Manager with McPherson’s, you’ll step into a role where every day is different, and your work has an impact you can see and feel. You will represent some of Australia’s favourite health, wellness, and beauty brands, like Lady Jayne, Manicare, Swisspers, Fusion Health, and Dr. LeWinn's, and bring them to life in local pharmacies and health food stores.
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to deliver in-store execution excellence and drive distribution growth by calling on high-opportunity retail outlets. The ideal candidate will be focused on growing sales by executing the Perfect Store model, increasing product visibility, and proactively engaging retailers to sell in new lines, promotional activity, and compliance initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Opportunity-Driven Servicing
* Prioritise call file based on growth, sales potential, and distribution gaps
* Execute structured call plans supported by Salesforce REX and insights from segmentation
* Use data to identify distribution opportunities, upsell initiatives, and POS gaps
* Focus on high-value stores that can drive growth vs coverage-only mindset
Perfect Store Execution
* Deliver brand standards in-store including core range, off-location displays, and promotional compliance
* Conduct store audits and capture execution data via Salesforce REX
* Educate staff on new products, brand stories, and promotional activity
* Ensure POS is placed, activated, and used as intended
Relationship Building & Brand Representation
* Build trusted relationships with pharmacists, retail managers, and key staff
* Be a category ambassador – position MCP as a value-adding supplier, not just a seller
* Gather competitor intel and in-field insights to feed back to Commercial teams
Reporting & Feedback
* Log store-level insights, photos, and compliance in real time
* Escalate recurring blockers (pricing issues, poor POS adoption, stock gaps) to Sales Ops or KAMs
* Participate in cycle meetings and provide real-world execution feedback
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in business development or sales within the retail industry
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
* Experience with CRM software is preferred
* Ability to travel as needed - metro and regional suburbs or WA.

* An interest in sales and a motivation to learn about territory management.
* Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
