Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Technical report writing
Transect surveys for flora, weed density, etc.
Surveys for threatened flora and fauna species
Supervision of vegetation clearing operations
Identifying and surveying Weeds of National Significance (WONs) and other priority local weeds
Identification of EVCs and PCTs (Plant Community Types)
Assessment of wildlife connector corridors
Installing, retrieving, and analysing bird/bat song meter data
Stag tree and stick nest monitoring
Thermal imaging survey work for bat monitoring and reporting
Capturing and relocating terrestrial animals during habitat clearing (spotter /catcher)
Translocation of threatened plants
Selection of suitable tree hollows for reuse as habitat hollows
Supervision and coordination of nesting boxes and hollow hog installation, with follow-up monitoring of artificial hollows and nest boxes
Installation and monitoring of glider poles
Post-clearing fauna, flora and weed surveys and reports
Collaborating closely with our clients' Environmental managers, supervisors, and engineers

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Australian post-secondary qualification in natural sciences, including subjects relating to the observation and description of terrestrial biodiversity and landforms.
Your qualification should also include suitable disciplines for the work tasks outlined below.
University degrees are preferred, as a high-level ability for written communication is expected.
Desirable
Spotter/catcher, fauna handling
4WD accreditation
Accreditation for VQA and/or BAM assessment and reporting, or demonstrated ability to perform this work, is highly desirable
Skill set we require
Well-developed field skills in flora and fauna identification
Effective communication skills and ability to delegate and lead
A rounded Ecology Industry (job) knowledge
Highly literate and succinct in verbal and written English to deliver high-quality reports
High level of computer literacy, particularly Excel and Word
Flexibility to travel and work away from home
Experience with field data collection, GPS devices, and cloud-based tools
Experience in large infrastructure projects, particularly transmission lines

REMUNERATION:
The positions available are all on an annual salary structure, plus super and benefits.
The positions will be permanent full-time, with the opportunity to earn additional income through overtime when working on specific projects away from home.
Depending on the person's appointed position, credentials and experience, company vehicles and laptops may be offered as part of the employment package.
Mobile phones are provided for each employee.
