About this opportunity
We are seeking flexible team members for Day and Afternoon shift operations at our Greenfields, state-of-the-art rHDPE/PP recycling facility. You will be trained in areas such as Quality and WHSE and accountable for following work instructions.
You will play a key role in delivering a Continuous Improvement mindset and initiatives to process up to 25,000 tonnes of baled post-consumer HDPE/PP per annum for conversion into food grade rHDPE resin.
Key Responsibilities:
* Comply with WHSE procedures and directions, working towards Goal Zero.
* Undertake duties safely and contribute to the safety of others through involvement in BOP's, Risk Assessments, and Incident Reporting.
* Provide relevant licences and permits to supervisor where required.
* Contribute to product quality through inspection and testing.
* Advise Supervisors or Technicians promptly of WHSE, Quality, Maintenance or People issues.
* Work effectively to ensure quality products are produced in a timely manner and cost-effectively.
* Maintain housekeeping of workstations during shift, with a final clean up at the end of the shift.
Your Skills and Experience:
* Experience working in 24/5 and later 24/7 operations.
* Background in extrusion, blow/injection moulding or thermoforming within a plastics manufacturing environment.
* Mechanical aptitude.
* Able to adjust, calibrate, and test equipment to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation.
* Able to learn new processes quickly and troubleshoot issues while maintaining quality standards.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment safely, effectively, and productively.
* A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
* Superior communication skills.
Qualifications:
* Plastics or polymer technology and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the plastics/extrusion industry is desirable.
