Salary Range: $149,739 - $173,174 plus superannuation and leave loading

Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary opportunity up to 12 months

Location: McKell - Hybrid opportunity. In-office requirement 2-3 days a week as a minimum, which could be subject to change based on applicable DCS workplace policies.

About the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.

We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a consistent experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.

Are you ready to make a real difference in the way Artificial Intelligence (AI) is used across GSS? We are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Principal AI lead to join our team to assure and govern AI within GSS, as well as contribute to DCS's broader AI operating model.

What you will do

* Lead the review of AIAF risk assessments, collaborating with privacy, security, ethics, legal, records, data and AI experts, ensuring safe of responsible AI usage.
* Drive the development of accountabilities for managing risks, ensuring continuity, enabling appeals, and providing evidence for decisions and actions, where AI is in use.
* Oversee AI system usage and deployments comply with the NSW Government AIAF, organisational values and related policies and standards, ensuring safe and responsible use of AI.
* Drive agency governance, risk, and assurance plans to ensure alignment with the AIAF and emerging AI policy, guidance and legislation.
* Ensure transparent planning and risks are identified for AI solutions being delivered by vendors and 3rd parties, liasing with internal teams, contract owners and procurement officers.

About You

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:

* A clear communicator with strong stakeholder skills and capability for translating complex AI concepts into outcomes.
* Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence technologies, and a demonstrated understanding of the business value and risks associated with AI automation.
* Experience navigating complex governance environments and frameworks.
* Ability to deliver results by working effectively with peers who have competing priorities.
* Customer focused and detail orientated.
