Groom duties
1. Daily Horse Care:
o Provide daily care for show jumping horses, including grooming, feeding, and monitoring their overall health.
o Administer medications, supplements, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian or trainer.
o Ensure stables and equipment are clean and well-maintained.
2. Tacking and Untacking:
o Assist with tacking and untacking horses before and after training sessions or competitions.
o Ensure proper fitting and condition of tack and equipment.
3. Exercise and Training:
o Assist in the preparation and execution of training programs designed by the head trainer.
o Supervise and participate in exercise routines, including lunging and riding, to maintain the horses' fitness and agility.
4. Show Preparation:
o Prepare horses for shows, including bathing, clipping, and braiding as necessary.
o Coordinate with the competition team to ensure all necessary equipment
1. Travel Assistance:
o Travel with the show jumping team to competitions, providing support and care for horses during transit.
o Assist with the set-up and breakdown of equipment at competition venues.
5. Health Monitoring:
o Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and report any concerns to the head trainer or veterinarian.
o Keep detailed records of the horses' health, vaccinations, de-worming ,shoeing. Inform stable manager for shoeing.
6. Team Collaboration:
o Collaborate with the head trainer, stable manager, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.*8 PaddocksSupervise /check paddocks are clean /water/ no poisonous plants/safe fencing.9 Feed.Monitoring feed /hay/ vitamin stocks informing stable manager .10 Rugs/ SaddleryCleaning and Maintance

Requirements
* Previous experience as a groom in a show jumping or competitive equestrian setting.
* Strong knowledge of horse care, nutrition, and health.
* Ability to handle horses with confidence and calmness.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and travel for competitions.
* Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of horse care.
