Electrical Design Engineer
Core Talent are currently partnering with a well-established electrical contractor delivering projects across the commercial and light industrial sectors in Western Australia. The business is experiencing strong growth and requires an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of multiple electrical infrastructure and building services projects.
This role will focus on the design, documentation and technical delivery of electrical systems (lighting, power, distribution systems) from post-sales through to project completion. You will work closely with project managers, site teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs are compliant, efficient and delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Design electrical systems including lighting, power and distribution in accordance with Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC)
* Produce and review electrical design documentation and workshop drawings
* Provide technical guidance and support to drafters and project teams
* Support project teams during commissioning and project handover
* Attend site to conduct inspections and verify installations
* Review subcontractor and supplier submissions for technical compliance
* Assist with engineering change management and project variations
* Maintain accurate project documentation including drawings, specifications and reports
* Participate in design and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality and project delivery standards
* Provide technical support to resolve engineering or design challenges across projects
* Complete design checks for secured construction projects
* Research new technologies and investigate alternative engineering solutions
The Ideal Candidate
* Several years' experience in a similar Electrical Design Engineer role
* Experience working on commercial or light industrial construction projects
* Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
* Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code relating to electrical services
* Experience with shop drawing development, design verification and commissioning
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering/design software
