About the Role
You will undertake a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, a 4-year apprenticeship, combining paid on-the-job training.
You will be supported every step of the way with:
* Continuous on-the-job training
* Tools provided
* An onsite mentor to guide and support your development
Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A reliable, flexible attitude and strong work ethic

* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and confined spaces
Key Responsibilities
· Assist qualified welders with fabrication, welding and assembly tasks
· Learn and apply welding techniques including MIG, TIG and Stick welding
· Prepare materials for welding by measuring, cutting, grinding and cleaning metal
· Set up welding equipment, tools and work areas under supervision
· Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints and job instructions
· Weld metal components in accordance with specifications and quality standards (as skills develop)
· Perform tack welding and basic welds under supervision
· Assist with fitting, aligning, and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies
· Operate hand tools, power tools and basic machinery safely
· Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
· Take direction from supervisors and work effectively as part of a team
· Demonstrate a willingness to learn, improve skills and accept feedback
