We are seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to support the Financial Controller in the day-to-day operations of the finance function and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across the business.
Location: Kakadu NT
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 + super (subsidies accommodation & meals provided)
Work Pattern: Onsite - Monday - Friday
About the Role
This is a hands-on role where you will oversee core finance functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting, while partnering closely with operational teams across the lodge.
* Managing daily finance operations including AP, AR and payroll
* Preparing monthly reconciliations, journals and financial reports (P&L, cash flow)
* Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
* Monitoring cash flow, debtor balances and implementing collection processes
* Ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies and audit requirements
* Partnering with department leaders to drive cost efficiencies and profitability
* Acting as Financial Controller in their absence
About You
You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar finance or management accounting role
* Strong understanding of payroll, GST, BAS and financial reporting
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders
* A hands-on, adaptable approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
