About the Business

Moolarben Coal mine is Australias largest thermal coal producer and has both Underground and Open cut operations producing over 21 million tpa. Responsibilities
1. Reporting to the HST Superintendent, this position plays a key role in supporting the Underground operation through the delivery of safety, assurance and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with site standards, company requirements and legislative obligations.
2. Providing technical expertise, guidance, and coaching on all health and safety matters, in alignment with the companys Health and Safety Management System and applicable legislation.
3. Conducting verification activities and compliance checks across the operation through assurance activities, audits and various inspections.
4. Assisting operational departments with incident investigations, risk assessments, critical control verification and management of change activities.
5. Analysing safety data and incident trends to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
6. Supporting contractor management processes and verification of safety compliance requirements.
Qualifications / Skills
7. Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) as a minimum qualification.
8. Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety will be highly regarded.
9. Demonstrated experience in HST or Health and Safety role within a heavy industry environment.
10. Previous underground mining experience is highly desirable.
