Accounts & Specifications Manager
A leading commercial interior building products manufacturer is seeking to hire an Accounts & Specifications Manager to join a global, market‐leading business within the building product space. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional who enjoys balancing specification, account management and new business development within the A&D, contractor and builder channels. Reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing relationships with contractors and builders alongside driving specification‐led sales growth across your territory.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and growing a strong network of architects, designers, builders, contractors and end users
* Increasing specification activity and improving project conversion rates
* Managing key accounts with a focus on product ranging, pricing and margin growth
* Identifying and developing new business opportunities through a proactive, hunter mentality
* Maintaining a detailed understanding of the local market, competitors and project pipeline
* Driving the uptake of value‐added initiatives including campaigns, loyalty programmes and account plans
* Ensuring accurate and timely CRM management, including contacts, projects, call cycles and market intelligence
* Supporting project communication and conversion through contractor and internal teams
* Managing customer claims, forecasting, reporting and expense control in line with policy
* Regular regional and interstate travel as required to support account and project activity
* Participating in monthly and annual performance reviews and ongoing training programs

* Achievement of revenue and contribution margin targets
* Growth in specification activity and higher‐margin product mix
* Increased engagement across focus segments and client base
* Strong collaboration with internal sales and business development teams
* Maintained or improved customer satisfaction results
* Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual bonus targets
About You
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar specification, sales or account management role
* Background of selling an interior building products
* Proven experience working with architects, designers, contractors and builders
* Strong consultative selling capability with the ability to critique and improve your own performance
* Commercial acumen with a track record of achieving sales targets
* Strong design and colour awareness
* High energy, resilience and a results‐driven mindset
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
* Strong organisational skills and attention to CRM accuracy
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
* A team‐oriented approach with clear individual accountability
