Overview
An Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced APS5 Case Manager (Program Officer) to support the administration of a national medical workforce program. This program plays a key role in improving access to medical professionals in regional, rural and remote communities across Australia.
The role involves managing a caseload of program participants, applying legislation and policy frameworks, and working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate and fair outcomes.
Under limited direction, you will:
Responsibilities
* Case manage program participants in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on policy, program and operational matters.
* Apply sound judgement to make recommendations based on policies, procedures and best practice.
* Prepare high-quality briefs, correspondence, reports and other documentation.
* Contribute to setting work priorities, monitoring workflow and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Support broader program administration activities as required.
You will bring
* Experience in program implementation and/or case management.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
* The ability to apply judgement and subject matter knowledge to policy and program decisions.
* A strong sense of accountability and the ability to contribute positively to team outcomes.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
* A broad understanding of the Australian health system and government operating environments.
Working arrangements
* Duties are performed from government offices in Brisbane or Canberra.
* Flexible working arrangements, including limited remote work, may be negotiated on commencement.
* The role operates in a professional, collaborative team environment.
