Automation & Control Systems Technician Job Overview

Cement Australia seeks an experienced Automation and Controls professional as a Plant Automation & Control Technician. The successful candidate will support site automation and control systems.

* Maintain safe and compliant process controls, HSE critical elements in place.
* Deliver engineering design, implementation, support for process automation, ensuring Australian standards and best practices compliance.
* Administer maintain process control systems for optimal performance, availability, effective communication with stakeholders.
* Design develop implement automation solutions improving plant reliability efficiency cost-effective operations.
* Support capital projects through design integration expertise.
* Manage maintain PCS registers.
* Prioritise assess implement system change requests.
* Lifecycle manage automation control systems.
* Collaborate maintenance budget planning accurate cost estimates provide.
* Promote contribute culture continuous improvement identifying implementing initiatives enhancing automation process system reliability.

About This Role

This is a highly skilled technical position working within our cement production facilities. As part of the automation team you will be responsible for delivering engineered solutions to meet business objectives. If you have experience working with Process Control Systems (PCS) and are looking for a challenging role where you can apply your skills then this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Safety – Provide engineering design, implementation and support for automation and control systems that ensure a safe work environment and meet health, safety and environmental requirements.
2. Process Control System Maintenance – Maintain process control systems to ensure optimal performance, availability and effective communication with stakeholders.
3. Automation Solutions Development – Design and develop automation solutions that improve plant reliability, efficiency and cost-effective operations.
4. Project Support – Support plant capital projects through design and integration expertise.
5. System Administration – Manage and maintain relevant PCS registers.
6. Change Management – Prioritise, assess and implement system change requests.
7. Lifecycle Management – Lifecycle manage automation and control systems.
8. Budget Planning – Collaborate in maintenance budget planning by providing accurate cost estimates.
9. Continuous Improvement – Promote and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance automation and process system reliability.
