The key accountabilities of the role: Software engineering discipline: Write clean, maintainable, and tested code that can scale to production.Applied AI development: Build AI-powered features and services using LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent frameworks.Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to deliver features that solve real customer problems.The key responsibilities of the role: Build and maintain AI-powered features for both client-facing products and internal toolsDesign and run evals to measure quality, reliability, cost, and performance of AI featuresContribute to red-teaming and risk assessment of AI solutions to ensure safe and compliant deploymentMonitor and improve deployed AI features, addressing issues like drift, latency, cost, and user feedback across their lifecycleCollaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts across the business to deliver solutions that solve real customer problemsThe key requirements for the role: Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with the ability to pick up other languages quickly (such as .NET or Ruby)Solid software engineering practice: building and maintaining production systems, working across legacy and modern codebases, writing tested and reliable codeA track record of building things that ship — whether open source, internships, hackathons, or personal projectsHigh learning agility — able to quickly adapt to new tools, frameworks, and problem domainsHands-on experience applying modern AI technologies — large language models, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, and agent-based systems — to real problemsPractical grasp of evals — designing and running evaluations to measure quality, reliability, cost, and performance of AI featuresAwareness of the challenges of deploying AI into production: monitoring, latency, drift, compliance, privacy, and responsible use in regulated domainsHands-on project or work experience beyond coursework — internships, OSS projects, hackathons, or professional rolesEvidence of working with real systems, not just toy examples: integrating with APIs, handling data, or contributing to production codebasesComputer Science degree (or equivalent academic or practical experience).
