Job Title: Business Development Manager (Technical Sales) (Full-Time) About the role
LG Energy Solution is one of the world's largest lithium-ion battery manufacturers with a market-leading position in advanced batteries for utility-grade BESS solutions, now entering the Australian market. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to own our commercial growth across the Australian Market.
This is a ground-floor opportunity within a well-capitalised global manufacturer — with full autonomy to shape strategy, partnerships, and pipeline in Australia.
Key responsibilities
* Identify and develop utility-scale and C&I BESS opportunities across DNSP/TNSP and developer-led pipelines
* Lead techno-commercial RFP/RFQ responses including scoping, specification review, and technical clarifications
* Build relationships with Developers, IPPs, Asset Managers, EPCs, and System Integrators
* Monitor AEMO/AEMC regulatory trends, FCAS/arbitrage market dynamics, and competitor positioning
* Liaise with global HQ on customer-specific certifications pricing, and product roadmap
* Develop bankability frameworks aligned with GPS, cybersecurity, and LTSA requirements
* Support negotiation of EPC, Supply & Install, and O&M contracts
* Maintain CRM pipeline and deliver regular market intelligence reports to regional and global leadership
Skills and experience
* Minimum 5 years in business development, project development, or commercial roles in Australian energy or infrastructure
* Demonstrated track record in BESS, utility-scale solar, wind, or grid-scale storage projects
* Established network with Australian utilities, DNSPs/TNSPs, and renewable energy developers
* Familiarity with AEMO Grid Connection (NER Clause 5.3.4A) and GPS
* Proven experience in high-value tender management and complex contract negotiations (EPC, MSA, LTSA)
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related Business discipline
* Experience in a multinational or cross-cultural corporate environment highly regarded
