Management Couple – Hands-On Motel Role, Narrabri
Are you a practical, experienced management couple who loves a varied, hands-on role? Southern Cross Motor Inn, a 44-room 4-star motel in Narrabri, NSW, is looking for you
You will oversee all aspects of motel operations — guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, finances, and facilities — in a well-established, professional environment.
This is a live-in, long-term opportunity for a couple who enjoy taking ownership of operations, working as a team, and delivering great guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Guest Services, Relations & Reception: Manage check-ins, bookings, and enquiries with professionalism and genuine warmth. Respond to reviews and feedback promptly, maintaining consistently high service standards
* Revenue Management: Monitor and adjust room rates in response to local demand and events, in consultation with the owners
* Administration: Oversee operational records, manage inventory, and coordinate stock orders
* Housekeeping Oversight and Laundry: Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff. Manage laundering of towels, stocktaking and ordering of linen
* Property Maintenance: Complete light maintenance and ensure the presentation of rooms, gardens, and pool areas is of a high standard
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Work Health & Safety (WHS), fire, and essential service requirements
To be successful, you must have:
* ABN
* High level of computer proficiency, including familiarity with Property Management Systems such as GuestPoint, with working knowledge of channel management, is highly regarded
* Proven 2 to 3 years motel management experience (or similar accommodation industry experience)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with a diverse range of guests and stakeholders
* Experience working with online travel agencies (OTAs), including and Expedia
* Ability to live onsite, work weekends and public holidays
* A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Willingness to participate in an online quiz if shortlisted
