I am partnering exclusively with an investment and financing organisation who are seeking an Associate Director, Systems and Management Accounting on a fixed term contract. The business supports Australian projects that drive high-value industry transformation across a defined set of priority sectors.
This role sits within the finance function and will support key priorities, including the implementation of a new FMIS (MS Dynamics F&O) and delivery of the 2026–27 budget cycle. Working in a lean finance team, the position blends hands-on systems delivery with core management accounting, providing high-quality financial insight to support executive decision-making and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Play a key role in the end-to-end FMIS implementation (MS Dynamics F&O), working closely with stakeholders across finance and technology
* Deliver BAU management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and variance analysis
* Analyse costs and key performance metrics to support performance management and efficiency initiatives
* Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and financial modelling to support strategic and operational decisions
* Develop and maintain cost allocation methodologies to ensure accurate and transparent costing
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, governance requirements, and internal policies
* Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses
* Partner with stakeholders to support effective budget management and financial decision-making
Key Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CA or CPA qualification preferred
* 7–10+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally within funds management, investment banking, or financial services
* Strong understanding of accounting systems, financial principles, and analysis techniques applied to strategic decision-making
* Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability, using Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems
* Proven ability to analyse complex information, solve problems, and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders
* Strong team orientation, interpersonal skills, and ability to operate effectively in a collaborative environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
