The Role

Join our Albany Zone team as a Mechanical Apprentice and kickstart your career with hands-on training and expert mentorship, offering guidance from experienced Tradespeople who are committed to helping you succeed.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical skills and industry knowledge through on-the-job experience and formal education in mechanical systems, safety standards and regulations—all leading towards obtaining your Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.

You may be located in Albany, Katanning or Lake Grace (and surrounding areas) to apply for this position.

Roster: 7 days on, 7 days off

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in diagnosing mechanical faults in plant and machinery
2. Support installation, maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, engines and other mechanical components
3. Learn and follow safety protocols and mechanical standards applicable to the workplace
4. Assist with preventive maintenance and routine inspections, including documentation and reporting of irregularities
5. Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and manuals with supervision
6. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of tools, workshop and job sites
7. Attend and complete classroom-based training as part of the apprenticeship program

About You:

8. Enrolled or willing to enrol in a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
9. Commitment to workplace safety and learning
10. Current driver's licence
11. Open to working on location for rostered durations, including time away from home
12. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in areas with high grain dust concentrations

Desirable

13. Previous exposure to a mechanical or workshop environment or completion of a pre-apprenticeship
14. Basic understanding of mechanical principles and troubleshooting
