Overview
The UK&I Waste and sector is an expanding market with multiple clients across the UK and wider. Surging demand, stricter regulations, and ambitious net-zero goals are driving groundbreaking innovation. We are currently seeking a Civil Design Manager with experience in the Waste sector to join any of our offices across the UK. This is an opportunity to be at the heart of it all. You will work with clients including Viridor, ConocoPhillips, HiiROC, SSE and Thalia, and be involved in projects such as Energy from Waste plants, Hydrogen projects, Due Diligence projects, Digestion & Gas Engine schemes, Pre-FEED and FEED studies.
Responsibilities
* Lead development of innovative and sustainable solutions addressing industry challenges in efficiency and environmental impact.
* Oversee Pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design processes for waste-to-energy systems, digestion and power projects, and hydrogen projects.
* Work on new-build, refurbishments, upgrades and retro-fit projects; foster a collaborative and supportive team environment; contribute to growth of Stantec\'s Energy sector teams.
About You
* Qualified with a Bachelor\'s/Master\'s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
* Strong experience in the Waste sector; background in Civil Engineering.
* Pro-active with knowledge of the energy industry; ability to coach and mentor juniors; cross-collaboration across the business.
* Engaged in the engineering community; understanding of innovative solutions and industry best practices.
* Proven experience in design management of Waste projects from concept to completion; knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations.
* Passion for sustainability and making a positive environmental impact.
