About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our Facilities Management team within the Lower Hunter Sector. This apprenticeship provides hands‐on learning and support in the maintenance, repair, and operation of refrigeration and HVAC systems across multiple hospital sites.

As Part Of This Role, You Will

* Assist qualified tradespeople with the day‐to‐day maintenance, repair, and installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
* Participate in on‐the‐job training and TAFE studies to complete your apprenticeship.
* Operate and monitor plant and equipment through building management systems.
* Support the team with filter changes, repairs, and installation tasks.
* Travel across various hospital sites as required, with fleet vehicles provided.

About The Team & Work Environment

You will work in a supportive, busy team focused on creating a positive experience for staff, patients, and visitors. The Facilities Management unit fosters a collaborative culture with opportunities for learning, professional growth, and hands‐on technical experience. Monthly toolbox meetings and four in‐person sessions each year provide ongoing engagement and team connection.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist tradespeople with maintenance, repair, and installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
* Participate in structured learning activities and on‐the‐job projects under supervision.
* Operate and monitor building management systems.
* Work safely, following instructions and procedures.
* Travel across hospital sites as required to support team operations.

What We Are Looking For

* Interest in pursuing a career in refrigeration and air conditioning.
* Enthusiasm for hands‐on technical work and mechanical systems.
* Ability to follow instructions and work safely under supervision.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn building management systems.
* Commitment to completing all components of the apprenticeship program.
* Willingness to work across various hospital sites.
* Current NSW driver's licence or ability to obtain one.

Experience Required

No prior experience required – full support and training will be provided by experienced tradespeople.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
