Role: Multicultural/ Refugee Social Worker Level 3. Hours per week: 24.
What You'll Be Doing
This Level 3 Social Work position provides services across both community and inpatient settings at Armidale Hospital, with a particular focus on supporting the refugee community in Armidale. The role ensures patients and their families receive person-centred, trauma-informed care addressing health and social needs. Regular internal and external training opportunities support supervision and ongoing professional development. The Multicultural Health team provides formal and informal support to keep the social worker connected. This is a part-time position (three days per week) with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals and families settle into their new environment and improve health and wellbeing.
About You
The ideal applicant will be passionate about patient-centred care and skilled in building strong, respectful relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary teams within the hospital. An interest in multicultural health is essential, with a willingness to develop and apply effective communication skills when working with interpreter services to ensure inclusive, person-centred care. You will be an effective communicator and collaborator, able to support coordinated, high-quality care planning within hospital teams.
Requirements
* Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
* Ability to participate in a weekend roster once every 8 weeks when trained

* An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies.
* To be eligible for employment you must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident, or hold an appropriate visa. Temporary visa holders will be employed in line with visa conditions.
