Position Overview: Forty Winks Toowoomba, a family-owned business with true family values, is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team on a Part Time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales and a strong desire to provide exceptional customer service. This role involves helping customers make informed decisions about their bedding purchases and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs, ensuring a welcoming store environment.
* Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of products to customers.
* Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
* Conduct sales transactions using the point of sale (POS) system.
* Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
* Continuously update product knowledge on various brands and product ranges including mattresses, bed frames, bedding, and other sleep-related products.
* Arrange and display merchandise to promote sales.
* Assist in inventory stock and requisition new stock.
* Handle returns and exchanges courteously and professionally.
* Engage in cleaning and maintaining the store to ensure a clean, organized environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven track record of successful retail sales experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
* Proficient in verbal and written English.
* Familiarity with POS transactions and basic inventory software.
* Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
