Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager, the
Road Maintenance Worker
will perform roles including road maintenance both planned and unplanned, traffic control, motorway inspections and support emergency and incident response.
This role operates over a 3-week roster from 7.00 AM to 3.30 PM and a 1-week roster from 8.00 PM to 4.00 AM. Overtime available and some call-outs when required.
The hourly rate is $***** per hour + Super + travel allowance.
Responsibilities
Perform civil planned and unplanned maintenance as required, including the operation and maintenance of related plant and equipment.
Repair, refurbish or replace defective property, plant and equipment, and perform corrective maintenance activities as required.
Document all activities, readings taken, materials and time used to enable the input information into the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Set up and shut down traffic management to control traffic for planned and unplanned maintenance and other activities occurring on the freeway as per the traffic management plans.
Provide roadside traffic management services and/or support to emergency incidents including urgent repairs or clean up after an incident.
Assist the Maintenance Delivery Manager with job timing, work scheduling, work instructions, and job plans in conjunction with technical services.
About You
To be successful in your application you will have a demonstrated capability to work on freeways and road systems with a reasonable level of mechanical aptitude and an understanding of the maintenance of road machinery, plant and equipment, accompanied with:
Experience/Qualifications in Civil, Road, Traffic Management.
Hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence.
Have MR (Medium Rigid) licence or HR (Heavy Rigid) licence desirable.
Be available on an on-call roster.
Have the capability of work at heights.
You will need to conduct and maintain a National Police Clearance.
