About the role
The Senior Risk Partner supports the development and delivery of enterprise risk management policies, frameworks, standards, procedures, supporting tools and templates to embed better risk management practices across the department.
This role requires a flexible, hands‑on risk professional who can work across all areas of risk management, adapting their approach to support a wide range of business and stakeholder needs. This is a new created role at the Department of Education (DOE).
The main responsibilities include however not limited to the following:
* Integrate the enterprise risk management roadmap, and implementation plan to improve risk maturity at DOE and drive continuous improvement in enterprise risk management practices.
* Actively support and provide advice to business areas to apply the department’s risk management processes, comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and embed sound risk practices into decision‑making and operations.
* Support the development and uplift of risk profiles, control registers to enhance the quality of risk identification, assessment and monitoring.
* Educate managers and employees on the importance of proactive risk management by developing and delivering quality training, presentations and materials to enhance risk capability in the department.
* Develop and deliver high-quality risk insights and reporting for the Secretary, Executive and the Audit and Risk Committee, utilising data to identify themes, inform decisions and develop practical solutions for managers across DOE.

About you
* Demonstrated experience in a similar or comparable risk management role, delivering end‑to‑end risk outcomes in a large, complex environment.
* Proven ability to manage, influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Highly self‑motivated and adaptable, with the ability to tailor messaging a wide range of audiences.
* Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Governance or a related discipline and/or equivalent workplace experience.
* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
