We've partnered with a truly unique, community-driven organisation on an international search for their next GM - Retail. Based in Darwin, this NFP operates grocery and retail stores across remote NT and QLD. With their long-standing GM moving away from the business, they're looking for a fresh, passionate senior leader to drive their next chapter.
About the Role
As General Manager – Retail, you’ll report directly to the CEO and lead a high-performing team across retail operations, merchandising, nutrition, business support, and more. You’ll drive strategy, optimise performance, and inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and sustainable business growth.

The Package
$220k - $250k AUD base salary + NFP tax concessions
Relocation package up to $30k
6 weeks Annual Leave + 17.5% leave loading

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute long-term strategies that grow market share and improve customer outcomes.
Oversee multi-site operations of 25+ stores, driving operational efficiency and service excellence.
Lead, mentor and develop a large and diverse team of senior managers.
Own and manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
Leverage data, insights, and industry trends to inform decision-making.
Foster a customer-centric culture aligned with evolving consumer needs and community values.
About You
We’re seeking a commercially focused, people-first leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You’ll bring:
Senior leadership experience running multi-site metro and regional grocery/supermarket operations is essential
Strong expertise in operations, merchandising, inventory, and team development
Proven ability to lead transformation and deliver financial results
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Experience using ERP systems (D365 or similar), and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
High-level critical thinking and agility in responding to market change
Other Requirements
The role is based in Darwin, NT - Support Office and will require a permanent move
Regular travel to remote communities is required (via road or light aircraft)
