Department Melbourne Sexual Health Centre (MSHC), a specialised unit for the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), is in Carlton. It is part of the Cancer and Medical Specialties Directorate of Alfred Health. It has an established reputation for clinical excellence and innovation through its research. MSHC provides screening, testing, counselling, information, referral, health education and clinical management of STIs, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C. It is reputed as a leader in sexual health with an ongoing active focus on postgraduate training and education, clinical consultancy, and research. The staff of approximately 125 includes Infrastructure support, Counsellors, Doctors, Nurses, Researchers, Pharmacists, Laboratory Scientists, and postgraduate students. Position Summary This role aims to provide level 1 & 2 desktop support, support and development of all aspects of MSHC business applications (CPMS, Medical Director, CASI (Computer Assisted Self Interview)/DFD (Digital Front Door), Database management) functionality across Melbourne Sexual Health Center. The role includes providing subject matter expertise and establishing and managing vendor relationships. The position also offers opportunities to develop new applications, closely engage with the Alfred Health Digital Health Team and undertake associated Business Analyst functions. In addition, this position provides day-to-day technical support to MSHC staff, supports the Digital Health and Technology Manager (MSHC) in maintaining network and systems availability and resolves ICT incidents to resolution and works to contribute to the achievement of organisational ICT strategic goals and project outcomes. Qualifications and Experience Required Education Recognised Industry Certifications or relevant work experience Bachelor’s in computer science or Degree in Software Development Knowledge and Experience Experience/knowledge in developing SQL queries with any relational database management systems (RDMS) and/or writing applications in any programming language such as Java, C++, C#, VB.NET, Delphi, and Python. Strong understanding of software development methodologies.
