This business is a leader in early childhood education across Australia. As part of the corporate head office you will support the delivery of high quality early education to children across Australia.
**About the role**:
Reporting to the CFO you will lead the legal function and also work closely with the existing compliance function. Your day to day work will see you work across all legal issues for the business, including:
- advising on and managing various commercial contracts;
- ensuring continual compliance with relevant legislation and regulations;
- working across all aspects of the acquisition and divestment of childcare centres;
- supervising the management of the lease portfolio;
- managing the insurance requirements for the business; and
- advising on health/safety, investigations, litigation and employment issues as they arise.
**Skills/Experience**:
To be considered for this role you will have:
- at least 8 years' PAE and an unrestricted practicing certificate;
- previous exposure to the childcare industry will be highly regarded;
- demonstrated experience in commercial law across the areas described above;
- ideally large law firm training and in-house experience;
- a commercial, pragmatic approach and excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
