Your Role in a Nutshell
Reporting to the Network Operations Team Leader, you’ll be the backbone of our national network infrastructure. You’ll monitor, maintain and optimise our network performance while providing hands-on support across our diverse technology stack. From troubleshooting connectivity issues to implementing security measures, you’ll ensure our teams can focus on what they do best - helping people.
What You’ll Be Doing
Network Operations & Performance
* Monitor network performance across 400+ sites and proactively prevent issues before they impact users
* Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents with minimal downtime
* Manage and configure Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, switches, and gateway hardware
* Support enterprise internet services including NBN, TC4, Fibre, and 5G networks
Systems & Security Management
* Implement and maintain robust security measures for network infrastructure
* Manage Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, Intune, and Autopilot configurations
* Ensure network security controls are regularly reviewed and optimised
* Support disaster recovery initiatives and business continuity planning
Site Support & Hardware Management
* Provide on-site operational support when needed
* Support network hardware, internet connectivity, and peripheral devices including printers and kiosk PCs
* Collaborate with vendors and service providers for seamless service delivery
Process & Documentation
* Maintain comprehensive network and systems documentation
* Follow ITIL change management processes for all infrastructure changes
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation opportunities
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Certifications (Desirable)
* Cisco: CCNA, CCNP, ENCOR
* Microsoft: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, Azure Network Engineer
Experience
* Minimum 5 years in network support or similar infrastructure roles
* Hands-on experience with network administration including protocols, routing, and switching
* Experience with IT infrastructure installation, configuration, and analysis
* Proven track record with ITIL-based change management processes
* Exposure to enterprise internet services and cloud platforms, particularly Azure
Technical Expertise
* Core Technologies: Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, Microsoft Azure networking, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot
* Network Security: Experience implementing and managing network security measures
* Hardware Support: Printers, peripheral devices, and enterprise networking equipment
* Desirable Skills: Azure Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, network monitoring and alerting
Skills & Competencies
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly
* Excellent communication skills—you can explain technical concepts to anyone, from IT professionals to end users
