About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This pivotal role involves taking ownership of a diverse client portfolio, providing strategic accounting and advisory services to help business owners make confident decisions and achieve their financial goals.
The Senior Accountant will play a key leadership role by overseeing workflow, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in delivery, and mentoring junior team members to support their professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
* Provide strategic financial advice and insights to help clients achieve their business goals and enhance financial performance.
* Oversee the delivery of accounting, tax, and advisory services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of accountants and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Conduct regular client meetings, review financial statements, and present key findings and recommendations.
* Stay informed on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends to provide up-to-date, strategic advice.
* Ensure all client deliverables meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
* A high level of integrity and professionalism.
* Minimum 7+ years of experience in Australian public practice accounting, with a focus on client management and advisory services.
* A strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
* Proven ability to manage and develop client relationships.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Experience reviewing and mentoring junior accounting staff.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Xero.
