Perseus Mining is seeking a Senior Resource Geologist to join the Australian-based Technical Services and Studies team.
This newly created corporate role has been established due to continued growth across our project portfolio and will play a key part in strengthening the capability of the Corporate Technical team.
Reporting to the Group Resource Geologist, the Senior Resource Geologist will lead resource definition activities across the business, including drill planning, geological interpretation, and resource estimation.
The role will ensure compliance with JORC and CIM reporting standards, while contributing to scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies, as well as M&A evaluations, Reserve replacement planning, and operational improvements.
Lead drill planning, geological interpretation, and resource estimation activities at a corporate level Ensure compliance with JORC and CIM/NI 43-101 reporting standards for Mineral Resource reporting Provide geological input into scoping, PFS, and FS studies, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery Liaise with Exploration and the broader Technical Services team to gather high-quality data and maintain a prioritised, technically robust project pipeline Evaluate the resource potential of exploration targets and make advancement recommendations to senior management Support M&A due diligence and growth-related budget generation Provide geological input into operational improvement initiatives and assist with mine geology support as required About You Our ideal candidate will be a technically strong and collaborative geologist with a proven track record in resource modelling, study support, and geological evaluation at a corporate or advanced project level.
To be successful in this role, you will bring commercial acumen, a proactive mindset, and the ability to deliver high-quality resource assessments that support both organic and inorganic growth, in addition to: A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related field Minimum 10 years' experience in across resource development or mining geology functions, ideally within structurally controlled gold systems Proven capability in resource estimation using software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan or Surpac Strong understanding of JORC and NI 43-101 reporting codes Experience in drill planning, resource modelling, and participation in PFS/FS studies Demonstrated ability to lead resource drill-outs and technical studies with minimal supervision Broad knowledge of resource geology, with a consistent record of delivering technically sound and commercially aligned outcomes Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent report writing and problem-solving capabilities Ability to work efficiently while delivering high quality outputs with strong attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite It would be beneficial if you have: Post-graduate qualifications in geostatistics or related disciplines, and/or language skills in French or Swahili Where you'll be working This position is based in Perseus's Subiaco office, with a corporate team of roughly 40 employees and growing.
You'll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
This role supports our mines in Africa and involves traveling to the region several times a year, with each trip lasting 2-3 weeks.
