The Role
As a Site Engineer, you'll work closely with the Site Manager and Project Engineers to ensure mechanical and structural works are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with design specifications. You'll be hands-on with covers, access systems, frames and associated mechanical components, ensuring quality and compliance are maintained throughout delivery. This role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge and practical site experience, confident in coordinating subcontractors, drawings, and material readiness in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing IFC and shop drawings for covers, frames, and structural/mechanical components to confirm materials are ordered and available on-site
* Inspecting fabricated items and deliveries to ensure they meet quality, compliance, and dimensional requirements
* Assisting with weekly planning, resource scheduling, and daily coordination of structural and mechanical works
* Preparing and maintaining daily progress reports in the Project Management System
* Developing and monitoring a two-week lookahead program to track progress against schedule and installation sequence
* Escalating any site issues, clashes, or design queries to the Project Manager promptly
* Overseeing subcontractors, signing off ITPs and ensuring works meet SWMS, safety, and quality standards
* Reviewing subcontractor claims and submitting to PM for approval
* Managing day works, installation records, and on-site documentation as required
* Providing technical support and solutions to site crews, liaising with internal design teams and external suppliers where needed
* Supporting stakeholder engagement and site coordination in alignment with the Project Manager
About You
You're a proactive and organised Site Engineer with 3–5 years' experience in mechanical and structural construction, ideally within water or infrastructure projects. You're confident reading structural and mechanical drawings, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld. You'll bring initiative, strong planning skills, and a practical problem-solving mindset to support successful project outcomes.
To be successful, you will have:
* A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
* A valid White Card
* Minimum 3 years' site-based construction experience with structural frames, covers, or mechanical installations
* Strong knowledge of site documentation, ITPs, QA/QC processes, and safety compliance
* Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across site and project teams
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to adapt quickly to site challenges
If this opportunity aligns with your skills and availability, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your relevant site experience and what draws you to Aquatec.
