Gforce is a well-established, for-purpose community organisation, founded in 1983 in Geelong.
For over four decades, it has grown into one of Victoria's largest group training organisations, hiring many hundred Australian Apprentices. Along with being a full-service employment and recruitment provider, gforce offers a comprehensive range of services including a youth focused Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) contract, a registered NDIA 'finding and keeping a job' service, and certified social trader labour hire business in the Geelong and Ballarat regions.

We are now inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who wish to join the gforce Board as a Non-Executive Board Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the governance and future direction of this well-known community-based, not for profit organisation and its associated subsidiaries.
The Opportunity
As a Board Director, you will bring strategic insight, sector knowledge, and governance experience to support gforce's continued growth, sustainability, and community presence.
The Board is responsible for providing strategic oversight, ensuring compliance, managing risk, advocating for our mission, and maintaining robust fiduciary and financial management.
It is anticipated the successful candidate(s) will demonstrate the following:
* Proven executive leadership experience.
* Bring strategic insight, sector knowledge (GTO/apprenticeship, Labour Hire/recruitment, IEA/NDIA/disability employment), and governance experience to support gforce's continued growth, sustainability, and community presence.
* Demonstrated empathy and experience in supporting people and communities facing challenges and/or relevant lived experiences.
* Prior experience as a Board Director highly regarding but not essential.
* Hold, or have the ability to obtain, a Director ID from the Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS).
* Strong commercial, financial, legal, and/or strategic acumen.
* Background and/or experience in finance, audit and risk; legal or regulatory compliance; and/or marketing, brand strategy and community engagement highly regarded.
* Collaborative approach to working with fellow Board Members and Executive Team.
This is a remunerated position, and the appointment is for up to a three-year term.
About You
You are passionate about quality outcomes and are someone who can think laterally and strategically, contribute effectively to Board discussions and decision making and demonstrate the ability to make a positive impact.
With proven executive leadership experience, coupled with strategic insight, sector knowledge, and/or lived experience with a disability, you will also demonstrate strong commercial, financial, legal, and/or strategic acumen.
You must be willing and available to attend the scheduled Board meetings in person each month at the gforce Geelong Head Office (and any sub-committees via MS Teams). Please note that any travel expenses are not covered/reimbursed by gforce.
