About the role
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Steel Reinforcement Scheduler to become an integral member of our Scheduling team. Reporting to the Planning Manager and situated in our East Rockingham, WA Office, the role involves scheduling reinforcing products for a range of concrete structures in commercial and civil construction projects in accordance with relevant standards. The Scheduler must effectively control project requirements through accurate forward planning and scheduling of production and delivery to maximize productivity and profitability.
Responsibilities
* Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
* Schedule reinforcing products into Bestbar's operating system.
* Accurately plan and schedule to project/job requirements.
* Keep abreast of product availability.
* Establish and continually update project drawings, files and diary.
* Manage several projects simultaneously.
* Provide the Planning Department with detailed forward tonnage one month ahead of production on a continual basis.
* Schedule to the planned tonnage two weeks ahead of production and forward those schedules to replace the planned tonnage.
* Use AutoCAD for basic shapes.
* Establish construction programs with Site Managers.
* Assist Sales Department with tender preparation and quotations.
* Perform take‐off in tenders and lump‐sum quotes.
* Create and complete variations on lump‐sum jobs.
* Coordinate credits and NCR information for the job.
* Schedule price reconciled against lump‐sum estimate and identify potential issues (variations).
* Close jobs when projects are complete.
Skills and Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant experience.
* Demonstrated achievement in problem solving and project completion.
* High level of administration skills.
* Ability to use AutoCAD.
* Experience in commercial, residential and civil markets.
* Experience in a customer‐facing role.
* Intermediate level of Microsoft Office proficiency.
