Telecommunications Specialist

Bechtel is a global leader in project management, engineering, and construction. With a long history of delivering complex infrastructure projects, we have developed a unique approach to working with our customers to create lasting positive impacts.

We are excited to be working on the Pluto Train 2 project, a major expansion of the existing Pluto LNG facility near Karratha in Western Australia. This project will increase the facility's capacity to process Scarborough gas and produce ~5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.


Job Overview

This role requires a highly skilled Telecommunications Specialist who can provide project field engineering expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.


Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and design temporary construction facilities and schedules.
* Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Verify and validate quantities of materials used during construction.
* Lead inspections and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.

The primary responsibilities of this role include Telecommunications type systems – LAN & WAN & Telephony, Plant Radio systems, CCTV, Access Control, General Alarm systems, associated fibre optic and copper-based structured cabling, coaxial cabling systems, etc.


Required Skills:

* Technical expertise in telecommunications, including network architecture, protocols, and security.
* Project management skills, including work planning, scheduling, and cost control.
* Communication and collaboration skills, including team leadership and stakeholder management.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis and risk assessment.
