Due to increased workload and expansion globally, the business is looking to onboard an excellent AWS Data Engineer to join and assist in improving their data infrastructure. The Role In this dynamic role, you'll tackle new challenges daily, leveraging your process-driven approach and innovative mindset to drive continuous improvement. Collaborating closely with the Data Manager, you will be required to design the architecture to shape how data flows across domains at an enterprise scale. This will require the engineer to scrape, consolidate unstructured data from multiple streams, cleanse, build pipelines and have it ready for reporting across the business. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of systems, data and team leadership. The business is focusing heavily on automation and real-time data. Your Skills & Experience Extensive hands-on experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on scalable, distributed systems. Proficient in Python for building robust data pipelines, with solid coding and testing practices. Deep experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data ingestion and processing. Expertise with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka and Apache Spark Structured Streaming for real-time data processing. Strong understanding of data modelling, schema evolution, data contracts, and lineage tracking to support trusted and reusable datasets. Extensive experience with cloud-native data platforms, particularly on AWS (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions). Proficiency in working with modern data warehouses like Snowflake, including features like Iceberg tables for large-scale analytical workloads. Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, or AWS Step Functions for managing complex workflows. Strong performance tuning skills and a deep understanding of trade-offs between latency, throughput, and cost in data systems. Demonstrated ability to contribute to data platform architecture, write technical RFCs, and mentor peers across engineering teams. A collaborative, product-oriented mindset-balancing technical excellence with practical delivery that supports business outcomes. About You You have exceptional technical know-how and a real passion for the end-to-end solutions that drive the user experience and customer happiness.
