Red Dust's Strong Young Women's Program (SYW) is a school and community-based health and wellbeing program delivered through weekly visits to schools in urban settings and on-Country camps in remote communities across the Top End and Central Desert regions of the Northern Territory.
The SYW Program engages Aboriginal women, elders and youth to create safe spaces for creativity and expression, strong voices, connections and learning, this is guided by strong culture and holistic living.
This program stream is supporting young women to build and maintain a healthy mind and body through a culturally meaningful framework.
Key themes such as healing, family, culture and language are explored with links to health, social and cultural outcomes.
The role
As the custodian of the Strong Young Women's Program (SYWP), you will contribute to Red Dust's mission by taking ownership of the growth and direction of the program across the Northern Territory.
You will lead a small team of coordinators in partnership with the Regional Managers to drive the design, planning and standards of the program.
You will bring innovative thinking to the program and help chart a course for ongoing evolution and improvement of the program as it grows.
You will support the planning and delivery of programs to communities in your region where required.
There will be an opportunity to join Red Dust's First Nations Leadership Group comprising First Nations staff.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the design and planning of the Strong Young Women's Program and adaptation across the Northern Territory ensuring it aligns with Red Dust's Theory of Change and health promotion best-practice.
Development of program plans and content tailored to the needs of communities and participants.
Lead the development of the annual schedule of programs, collaborating with Regional Managers and other Program Managers.
Ensure consistency of program delivery across regions and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.
Build the capacity of the program through resource development and training.
Oversee monitoring and evaluation of the program, working closely with your colleagues to ensure regular data collection and the evolution of safety and quality practices.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including community members, schools and community organisations, and be across changes within communities.
Manage the program budget ensuring programs are delivered within budget.
Support remote community program delivery and consultation as required.
Collaborate with team members to support and identify synergies between Red Dust programs.
Provide regular updates for funding proposals and reporting.
What you will bring
Demonstrated experience designing program plans and frameworks for an Aboriginal remote demographic with a health and well-being focus.
A deep understanding, cultural connection and experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
Extensive experience delivering programs with Aboriginal youth and young adult audiences.
An ability to effectively engage young audiences and relate to their circumstances.
You understand and can demonstrate your experience monitoring and evaluating programs.
Knowledge of key health and wellbeing topics relevant to the Indigenous population.
You can manage and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
You are well organised and have planned and managed schedules and work effectively within a team and autonomously.
Demonstrated capability in producing reports for a range of stakeholders.
Ability to travel regularly and to spend periods of time in remote locations.
Ability to flex and adapt in a dynamic environment - you are comfortable getting your hands dirty.
