About ABBA Engineering
ABBA Engineering is an Australian‐owned, ISO‐accredited engineering and manufacturing company delivering fabrication, mechanical, and project solutions across mining and heavy industrial sectors.
Our Kalgoorlie workshop is a critical part of our operations, supporting site services, shutdowns, and project delivery across the region. We are now seeking a Workshop Supervisor to strengthen day‐to‐day leadership and support the Site & Services Manager in driving consistent performance across our boilermaking team.
The Opportunity
This role is a hands‐on workshop leadership position, focused on execution, accountability, and people management.
You will supervise a team of boilermakers, welders, and fitters, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification — while also maintaining strong control over attendance, timesheets, leave, and day‐to‐day workforce matters.
This role suits a trade‐qualified supervisor who is confident on the floor, comfortable behind a computer, and able to communicate clearly with both trades and management. You won't be making decisions in isolation — but you will be expected to provide clear, practical input to support planning, problem‐solving, and operational decisions.
What You'll Be Accountable For
* Daily workshop performance — work is planned, resourced, and executed efficiently
* Team output and conduct — the crew is productive, engaged, and meeting expectations
* Safety and quality outcomes — standards are enforced, not assumed
* Attendance, timesheets, and leave control — accurate, timely, and compliant
* Clear communication — issues, risks, and progress are visible and addressed early
* Performance conversations — feedback is given, documented, and followed through
* Support to the Site & Services Manager — practical input that improves outcomes, not noise
This is a role where follow‐through matters. You will be trusted to keep the workshop running smoothly and to raise issues early with sensible, workable solutions.
About You
You are a boilermaker by trade who has stepped into supervision and understands that leadership today means clarity, consistency, and accountability.
You will bring:
* Proven experience supervising boilermakers in a workshop or heavy industrial environment
* Australian Driver's license C Class, High Risk LF, EWP License, Confined Space Ticket & Working at Heights Ticket
* Confidence managing attendance, leave, timesheets, and basic performance matters
* Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and on the workshop floor
* The ability to make practical, reasonable suggestions to support operational decisions
* A calm, professional approach to people management and problem‐solving
You don't need to be the loudest voice — but you do need to be credible, organised, and consistent.
