**Selection Criteria**:
SC1: Demonstrated ability and experience in a school environment to implement procedures and programs that ensure efficient administrative and professional support to the Principal class and the Business Manager in the operations of the community.

SC2: Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with all members of a school community and be able to always maintain strict confidentiality.

SC3: Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain the highest standard of professional interaction with students, staff, parents, School Council, the wider community and DE.

SC4: Demonstrated excellent organisational skills including the ability for effective time management, establishing priorities, procedures and guidelines relating to the work area; and display initiative and creativity.

SC5: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, DE software (Compass, CASES21, EduPay, Recruitment Online), and understanding of DE HR policies or experience in a Human Resources role.

**Role**:
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage recruitment procedures and ensure all policy and legal requirements are met.
- Develop and implement professional development programs for staff and provide advice in the development of professional development policy throughout the school.
- Manage industrial relations policy and procedures.
- Develop and implement human resource planning, strategies and guidelines.

In this role, you will oversee school payroll, recruitment, and HR compliance, including staff leave, special payments, and terminations. Responsibilities also include coordinating key meetings, maintaining accurate HR records, and ensuring compliance with Working With Children and VIT requirements. This role supports efficient, compliant HR operations within the school community.
