Reporting to the Metals Functions Finance Business Partnering Manager, this role is responsible for providing high-quality financial support to the Central Services business unit, with a strong focus on budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated management reporting.
You will join a team that is passionate about finance business partnering, where collaboration and value-adding insights are core to how the team operates. This is a senior, influential role suited to someone who brings strong commercial judgement, enthusiasm, and a genuine focus on fostering a positive team culture, while confidently managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the coordination and delivery of accurate month-end results, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
* Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting, including clear analytical commentary for senior stakeholders.
* Partner closely with key business stakeholders to provide financial insights that support effective decision-making.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor key financial performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and drive cost optimisation initiatives.
* Provide detailed, driver-based cost and variance analysis to support business planning and performance management.
* Lead the development, enhancement, and ongoing improvement of internal controls, financial policies, and processes, including streamlining and automation initiatives.
* Ensure financial reporting and accounting accuracy in compliance with accounting standards and Fortescue Group Accounting Policies.
* Mentor, coach, and support the development of junior team members.
* Proactively identify and deliver finance process and system improvement initiatives in collaboration with the wider finance team.
* Actively promote and uphold a strong team culture aligned with Fortescue's values
Qualifications and Experience
* Finance or Commercial degree as well as CPA or CA qualifications
* Significant experience in management accounting or finance business partnering roles
* Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and explain complex financial information.
* Experience with SAP preferred; exposure to Power BI and/or Anaplan will be highly regarded.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively with operational teams and senior management.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and operate with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.
