Veterinary Specialist Training Opportunity
Veterinarians seeking a challenging career in veterinary clinical pathology are encouraged to apply for this intensive training program. IDEXX is expanding its global reach and requires motivated veterinarians who can communicate effectively in Japanese & English to undertake a four-year specialist examination program.
Training Program Details:
* The residency will commence in mid-August and be based in either Australia, New Zealand or Tokyo.
Key Responsibilities:
* Trainees will participate in case directed learning, supported study and laboratory duties under the alternate pathway of ACVP accreditation.
* Access to pathologists globally and locally will provide depth and breadth of knowledge and extensive mentor support.
What to Expect:
* General pathology training period with exposure to anatomic and clinical pathology for the first 12 months.
* Phase I of the ACVP examination will be undertaken after approximately two years.
* After four years, trainees will be eligible to sit Phase II of the ACVP examination in veterinary clinical pathology.
* Training will involve predominantly clinical cases, developing ability to report independently with access to consult and seek consensus from other pathologists.
* Emphasis will be on companion animal pathology with a smaller volume of production animal and exotic species cases.
* Attendance and presentation at conferences, active participation in the pathology community, and preparation of research or case publications will be expected.
Requirements:
* Motivated and passionate veterinarian with at least 18 months of clinical experience, eligible to work and register as a veterinarian in Australia, New Zealand or Japan.
* Excellent written and spoken English and Japanese is a requirement.
