Ambulance Transport Attendant
Provide high-quality patient transport care in your community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct patient assessment and intervention on-road.
2. Deliver exceptional patient care and treatment during on-road transport.
3. Foster positive working relationships with patients and stakeholders.
4. Evaluate the effectiveness of any intervention according to RFDS policies, NEPT regulations, and prescribed scope of practice.
5. Work independently and problem solve within established policies and procedures.
6. Collaborate effectively with other team members.
7. Maintain an understanding of RFDS policies and procedures, as well as NEPT regulations, to support best practice and patient outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
1. Hold a Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or equivalent qualification recognized by RFDS or DHHS.
2. Evidence of successful completion of required clinical placements and Clinical Skills Assessment.
3. Hold a minimum of 400 hours operational stretcher experience under direct supervision of a clinical instructor.
4. Successful completion of Clinical Skills Assessment (e.g., stage 8).
5. Registered Nurses in the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia who have completed an appropriate bridging course for practice in the non-emergency patient transport sector.
6. Desirable: Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role.
7. Hold a FULL Victorian Drivers licence and possess the ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions.
8. Availability to work across a 7-day 24-hour roster with 10 & 12 hour shifts.
