About Us
Located on the outskirts of Ipswich town centre, Cardinal Medical Practice is the largest medical practice in Suffolk and formed from a merger of Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road Surgeries. The practice serves a population of approximately 30,000 patients.
The clinical team includes 4 GP Partners, 8 Salaried GPs, 2 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional healthcare professionals, supported by Management and a large administrative team.

Job Description and Responsibilities
The post holder will report to the Partners (clinically) and the Practice Manager (administratively). The core responsibilities involve delivering highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
* Provision of services commensurate with our core contract
* Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
* Effective management of long-term conditions
* Timely processing of administration including referrals and repeat prescription requests
* On a rotational basis, undertake the duty doctor role
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with good practice, policy and guidance
* Work collaboratively, accepting an appropriate pro rata share of the practice workload
* Adhere to best practice through clinical guidelines and audits
* Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
* Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required
* Ensure compliance with the appraisal and revalidation process
* Commit to self-learning and foster continuing professional development across the practice team
* Support the partners in achieving the practice's strategic aims
* Adhere to practice protocols and policies and participate in policy reviews when required

Person Specification
Experience – Essential
* We are seeking a dedicated and passionate GP responsible for providing medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with our core contract and practice values, and adhering to GMC standards for Good Medical Practice. Yearly appraisals (in practice and externally) with a named mentor are provided, regardless of experience. The successful candidate will contribute to effective practice management, maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with the team.
