Job Description
This position is responsible for providing expert advice and support to the construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV, and Client Safety obligations. You will be expected to work closely with site teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, develop and implement safety plans, and communicate safety issues and standards to relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent, as well as extensive experience working in construction and/or tunnelling safety roles. Strong initiative and proactive nature are essential, along with high-level collaboration and influencing skills. The ability to interpret, reason, and make sound judgements is also crucial.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Complete audits and risk assessments.
2. Provide advice and support to the construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV, and Client Safety obligations.
3. Implement Safety plans and subsidiary systems documentation.
4. Communicate Safety issues and standards.
5. Undertake, and participate in relevant safety governance activities as identified within the Area Safety Activity Schedule.
6. Ensure personal KPI requirements are met.
7. Ensure all incidents are reported, internally and externally, and event investigations are properly conducted, recorded and information closed out in accordance with FGJV HSSE Management System and Client timeframes.
8. Develop and submit scheduled reporting and analysis of performance trends when required.
9. Conduct training and competency assessments, including onboarding and inductions.
10. Promote a dynamic and positive Safety culture focused on executing properly planned and managed construction activities.
11. Contribute to Safety performance for the project, providing coverage across both day and night shift as rostered.
12. Ensure all position deliverables are completed on time and to a high level of quality.
