About the role
The Business Partner – Finance is responsible for providing commercial leadership, strategic support, risk management, financial analysis and insights, and performance monitoring to their stakeholders.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent business analysis skills, and the ability to communicate and build effective relationships, managing the tension between business requirements and financial outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Financial Business Analysis, this role will serve as a trusted advisor to department heads and managers, providing commercial leadership, performance monitoring, risk management, financial insights, recommendations, and solutions to support operational needs and strategic objectives.
What you will bring
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of core financial disciplines, including accounting standards, financial governance, and compliance frameworks, with practical expertise in tools such as Workday Adaptive.
- Substantial knowledge of the strategic and policy context of community programs, including funding mechanisms, regulatory environments, and the complexities of service delivery in the not-for-profit and human services sectors.
- Ability to operate under limited direction from senior staff, lead teams, and work with diverse groups to create a collaborative environment.
- High interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Experience in managing significant projects, demonstrating analytical skills, problem-solving, and evaluation capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data, draw insights, and present findings to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong customer and client relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Ownership mindset with proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to bring people together to achieve common goals, both internally and with external partners.
- Proven track record of process improvements and implementing best practices in financial analysis and reporting.
- Strategic thinking, critical analysis, and continuous improvement focus.
- Significant experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or management consulting.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferable) and supporting their integration.
- Experience with Workday Adaptive & Office Connect is beneficial.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and other financial software, with preference for SAP or Oracle experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
