The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for detail-oriented and service-focused individual to be responsible for the delivery and implementation of Council's purchasing activities with a commitment to providing excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders
As a Purchasing Officer, you will process online requisitions and purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that all details are correct and all appropriate approval processes are followed. You will support the implementation of continuous improvement activities related to purchasing processes for internal stakeholders and assist in maintaining the Purchasing Framework, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and effectively used.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV qualification (or higher) in purchasing, procurement, tendering, contracts or similar related qualification, or willing to work towards same, and possesses an understanding of public sector governance and legislative compliance related to purchasing, procurement, contract management, accounts payable, and workplace health and safety (WHS).
You will have the following skills and experience;
* Demonstrate experience in interpreting legislation and guidelines applicable to purchasing and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Have a working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office and financial management software systems, to effectively perform purchasing administration tasks.
* Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills, allowing for clear and concise communication with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
* Possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in supply, purchasing, and logistics or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in purchasing principles and practices.
Benefits
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $79,969.34 gross per annum, comprising of:
* $1,373.10 per week base salary
* $164.77 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
