Senior Security Engineer/ Expert/ Specialist
We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer/Expert/Specialist to protect SITA's assets from threats. The role is in the Operations team and focuses on IT systems local to Sydney. Knowledge of security policies and technologies will be provided by the Enterprise Information Security Office.
PURPOSE
Our Senior Security Engineer/Expert/Specialist ensures IT systems and processes comply with security policies and that security incidents are detected and managed. The role is on the front line of protecting SITA's assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain all required security audit records and present these to auditors.
* Lead investigations into local security incidents.
* Ensure local security systems are effectively configured to detect and block threats.
* Ensure vulnerability management is performed as per contractual requirements.
* Review requests for change from a security perspective and provide advice to Change Management Board.
* Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for local systems to ensure compliance with security policies.
EXPERIENCE
* Three to five years of industry experience in an information security function.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Solid technical knowledge of current IT security systems, practices and standards.
* Experience in using SIEM, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and other security systems.
* Excellent documentation and communications skills.
PROFESSION COMPETENCIES
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CISM preferred.
CORE COMPETENCIES
* Knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
* Knowledge of information security and cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and codes of practice such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002, NIST Cyber Security Framework, etc.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
