About the role
This full-time Machinery Operator position at BJS Plumbing and Civil Contracting is a crucial role within our construction team based in Tolga, Queensland. As a Machinery Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy construction equipment to support the delivery of our civil contracting projects.
What you'll be doing
* Operate and maintain a range of construction machinery, including excavators, bobcats, loaders and compaction equipment
* Carry out daily pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on assigned machinery
* Work closely with the site supervisor to ensure optimum productivity and efficiency on project sites
* Follow all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of work processes and procedures
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Machinery Operator in the construction industry, preferably with a wide range of machinery
* Minimum of 3-5 years of machinery operating experience required
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate in Civil Construction Plant Operations or equivalent
* Current valid excavator, loader and bobcat tickets must be held at commencement of employment
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
